Im 6ft 1 and have last years spectrum in an xl. I'm looking for a longer fit. It seems that other dc coats are a little bigger than the spectrum. Would an xl be a good choice and is an xl of this coat the same as an xl of the spectrum or does this coat run a little bigger.

I'm the same height as you and for a standard fit jacket, I feel they can never be too long. I'd go with an XXL for sure just in case. I do think the spectrum might be a bit smaller than other standard fit jackets but I don't know for sure. Apparently DC's sizing chart is pretty accurate. http://store.dcshoes.com/info/index.jsp?categoryId=4200381&infoPath=3007349
