FYI...Last year's Hero was softer (board feel 2) than the 2011 (board feel 3).

I think the Hero was a channel board this is a 3-D board. The Hate is softer than then Hero and has a more durable less expensive base. Both boards are great but the Hate looks so good.

Same board feel (2)...but the Hate doesn't rep the channel...so you will actually lose some flex (comparatively), and you can't rock est bindings. The Hate features frostbite edges, which are noticeable on hardpack. The hate also has jumper cables, so you should have more pop. Pretty similar boards...the Hate offers a few more features. The fact that this board doesn't have the channel is a big downfall for me.
