I'm 5'9" and 185 and a size 11 boot. I just bought a 159W b/c I mostly want an all mountain board for cruising and carving through the backwoods and hitting the park every now and then. You think I made the right choice with the 159 rather than the 156 since I mostly like to freeride?

o for sure because its easier to take a free ride/ powder size board in to the park then take a park board out of the park and sense you spend most of your time out of the park you made the right choice for sure.

Yeah for sure. You'll appreciate the extra length in pow and the stability cruising around the hill. The 156 would have worked but probably would have been more of a jump board for your stats.
