The Republic is going to be a bit stiffer underfoot than the Shaka. The Republic is a 7 on stiffness and the Shaka is a 5. Also the Shaka has "Good Vibes" (gives more flex under foot and has a hinged binding), The Highbacks on the two models differ a bit. If your looking for a stiffer binding the Republic is going to be your joint. Republic harnesses freestyle, energy to slay and stomp with higher wattage and amplitude. Boosting efficiency with a regulation- height living hinge highback, this binding conserves output resulting more pop and stomp with less fatigue. Real wrap EVA and cush straps provide the comfort of a secondhand couch, with out the smell. Go slay some Dragons Friend.
