Is this watch water proof? Is it too big for a 12 year old? If so, is there another one you could recomend? I'm trying to stay under a $100.00 THANKS

The Lowdown is good for a swim down to 100 meters, so definitely more waterproof than most 12 year-olds would need. As for the size, it's not supermassive, but it is a men's watch. If you were worried about it being too large, I would recommend the Lowdown Small here: http://www.dogfunk.com/nixon-small-lodown-watch-womens?cmp_id=&rrType=ClickCP&rrProd=NIX0859 ...And don't worry about it being called a "women's" watch, the only difference is the size.
