The Filter has a fully skateable sole. And has the Cloud 9 Footbed that adds a lot of cushion without any added bulk. The Slymz are strictly a chiller. If you want something low profile but still fully skateable, go with the Filter. If you just want something for lounging, go with the Slymz. Hope that helps!
