Its really depends on your style of riding and where your skill level is. Most people would start off by getting a board that's tall enough to rest their chin on..if you want to hit jumps you might want and board a little bit longer/stiffer..if you wanna become a park rat, then a board thats shorter and softer would be best..but hey every board is different so it best to test out a few boards first to find your best fit..
