The Vet has a higher 10k waterproof rating and breathability rating, also the Vet features light insulation where the Reducer has none. Depending on how cold the weather gets where you are, this could be a huge factor. I tend to run cold and I prefer insulated jackets in most winter weather. Based strictly on tech, the Vet offers more bang for the buck. That said, I prefer the style of the Reducer in Military green.
