No bro, they stay right where you put them. The material might look cheep, but its def not. Its made of PU leather, whitch hold up in the wet and cold better than most. Its not a synthetic rubber or anything, but conforms to your boot perfectly. Just get them and you will not be dissapointed at all. Theres a little plastic part at the bottom side of the toe strap and it pretty much shows you how your boot should be locked in. Some ppl cut it off tho lol
