My son is a youth (11 years old) but he has a men's shoe size of 8 so youth boards are out...would a 139 in this mens Clash be too much board for him...he is upper beginner/lower intermediate

The clash will not be too much board for you son unless he is really light, If he is around 80 lbs then you should be fine.
