Which I/O lens tint works better on very snowy days the sensor mirror or the gold sensor mirror?
Good question, David. According to Smith, both lenses have a visual light transmittance of 70%, making them almost identical when it comes to performance. The Gold Sensor Mirror and the regular Sensor Mirror are perfect for low to medium light conditions (storms, overcast days, etc.). However, it should be noted that the Gold Sensor Mirror is going to help you most in LOW LIGHT (evening, overcast) while the regular Sensor Mirror is intended for FLAT LIGHT (snow storms, whiteout). Both will do the job, but the Sensor Mirror would be the best pick for you.
