I have only worn these once but the Black Plaid ones look sick and I didn't feel any wind or water through these bad boys on a 12 degree day, I would say that the XL was extremely large in the waist and unless you are 38 or larger in the waist I would recommend the L. The removreable liners are also tight!!!
