Well-Rounded Jacket

By Ranked #439 - Women's Snowboard Jackets February 16, 2009

I bought this jacket on tramdock a few days ago and it just showed up, so I haven't had the chance to try it out yet. My first impression was 'how in the world is this jacket 20k?' (if you didn't already learn from the Oakley site, the specs here have a typo). The material seems extremely thin, as if just a few romps through the trees might tear it. Also, I got this coat in the green color which turns out to be MUCH brighter in person. It's not necessarily of day-glow status, but the camera does not do it proper justice. One of my other hang-ups is the magnetic closure on the decorative flaps-- or, lack there of; they close with magnets on the bottom two and snaps on the top two, the snaps being particularly frustrating to work, even without gloves. Lastly, this jacket should almost be categorized as a shell, its so badly insulated. Although there is some 'strategically placed' fleece on the back and chest, it's hardly enough to be considered a jacket outside of resorts or spring skiing. The cut is flattering, though rather baggy and I highly recommend ordering down a size.
