Ranked #1742 - Men's Pants
February 6, 2010
I liked a lot about this pant like the boa waist dial, the big cargo pockets, welded seams, and just some nice 686 quality and details...but as soon as I put them on it was a pretty safe bet I would never wear these. These pants fit me like I was wearing a fat girl's pair of tight flare jeans. I guess due to the articulated, slimmer fit the butt of the pant is baggy, the leg down through the knee is fairly tight and constricting, and then around the boot they flare out a bit. Alot of other reviews online agree, a very awkward and weird looking fit.
Maybe more important is 686's 20k material is questionable. It looks cool, kind of silky and shiny, but as I found out from other online reviews and my own experience with the 20k Smarty pants (same material I think but its 2.5 ply, looks and feels the same), it frays from wear quickly and snags easily. If you like riding in the woods or even on the side of trails you are probably going to snag or even rip these pants on twigs and bushes.
