I'm a tall rider at 6'6", and love the 34" inseam on the XLs. At this size, the waist is a few inches too big, but the suspenders keep me from having to wear a belt. I wear them in an X configuration, as just having them straight up, they slip off your shoulders too easily. I can wear them low on my waist, and it's much more comfortable then wearing a belt.
I got to break them in at Mammoth, during a record snowfall storm. 15' in four days, and the snow was wet. My legs were dry the whole time, these pants keep the wet out for sure. Functionally they work great, and they look good too. Total score!
