Solid Bindings

By Ranked #1102 - Bindings January 8, 2011

After having ridden Union Forces and a handful of other Burton bindings, I can see why the Cartels are so popular. They're pretty light, straps are comfy, and the buckles slide well. My only concern on these bindings is the build quality. After only two days of hard riding, they're already showing signs of wear. Paint is beginning to chip around the heel cup (I'm riding the grey/blue colorway) and the foam on the highback where my boot rests against is already fraying. I wouldn't mind sacrificing a little bit of weight if it meant these bindings were more durable.

Response on these, I think Burton is stretching it with a rating of 7 out of 10. I'm riding these with a pair of 32 Tm Twos size 10 and the bindings feel like they're not even there, and I mean that in a good way, but not in a 7/10 way.

I'd give it 3.5 stars. if it weren't for the flimsy build quality and ridiculous price tag (I don't care if it's EST) it would get a solid 4 or even 5 stars.
