Volcom Falling Down Jacket - Men's

Item #VLC5788 | 0 in Stock
4 Star Rating

good jacket with one biting flaw

By Ranked #1115 - Men's Jackets January 10, 2011

I'm 5'10'' 150 lbs. Wore this jacket over the course of a week and 4 trips to the mountain, one at night.

I have a Large in Purple and it looks great, even though it fits really baggy I still like the look. Furthermore, rolling through powder all week and taking spills, I'm bone dry - a huge improvement over the North Face water resistant shell i'd been using.

The only complaint I have, and its a big one, is the fleece chin saver. In snowy conditions all week long, the fleece on the chin saver has frozen into a sheet of ice which makes it hell to put my face on the very part of the jacket where i'm supposed to.

I'm going to try different things like neck gators, and masks to solve the problem, but for a $200 jacket, the fleece chin saver should work to save my chin instead of frost-biting it.

Still 4 stars for the great look, handy pockets, outstanding waterproofing, and quality powder skirt that all do their jobs - just watch out for your chin.
