Basically, while those gloves were okay, these nicer Surgeons remove all complaints I had about their construction and use. The base glove is made out leather which has a great durability and looks pretty damn good to boot. The thumb, which has no puck, is double reinforced should you accidentally find yourself dragging that finger in a slide.
The addition of the two finger pucks on each glove makes a world of difference for me. The additional contact points are helping me keep the gloves in better condition AND making sliding easier. Win, win.
Bottom-line: drop the extra dough and grab these bad boys unless you are 100% certain of how you slide and know you can ditch the finger pucks.
