I was a bit skeptical when I got this jacket - I thought all the AK stuff was overhyped.
This jacket is the shit. If you ride all season it will be the only jacket you need. Im doing another season in Whistler and I wear this jacket everyday. All you need to change is your layers depending on the weather. It has all the simple features you need - just enough pockets, nice fit that covers most of your face in a storm, good length.
On a cold day you will need a good fleece underneath to stay warm but what you also get is a versatile jacket that will breathe well when your huffing and puffing on hikes.
I am sold on Gore-tex. Not only is it waterproof and windproof but it stays that way the longest out of all the technologies out there. A Gore-tex shell is the only do it all jacket in my opinion.
