Stitching problem

The boot was great except for the stitching. The first time I wore them, the outside stitching let loose around the toe area, on both boots! It was as if they weren't lock stitched, just came undone. I'm returning them and will try another pair as I like everything else about them. Maybe I just got a bum pair.
