im not sure what they mean by "insulated" because it is pretty much just a really warm shell - doesn't seem to be any actual insulation. BUT other than the title confusion i have, this jacket is great! perfect for wearing around town to keep you nice 'n toasty and great for the mountain on those bluebird days keeps you dry and warm as long as it isn't dumping.
