This is almost an overshirt, it's so thick. And the acrylic, while relatively soft, isn't without a slight itch. I wear a tee under it and it's super warm. Wore it as a mid layer on the mountain and nearly sweated my balls right off, it's that warm. Great winter shirt, and it looks burly too.
