Gear Review

Would never buy again

I bought the horrorscope last season to only be extremely disappointed in the board and Capita. The board cracked within less than 2 months after buying it, from just spinning off a little roller and landing a bit tail heavy. This is the first and only time I've ever broke a board and the first and only Capita board that I've ever ridden. I took pictures and Capita told me they were going to warranty the board so send it in. I had to pay all the expenses to only have them tell me they were not going to do anything because the core was broken (figured that the core would be covered under warranty like most other snowboard companies do). I tried to get them to help me out and at least help cover some of the shipping costs because they told me to send it in but all they have done is sent multiple copies of their warranty policy. So if you want a board with a weak core which is not covered under their warranty policy at all than the horrorscope is your board. Also was not a fan of this board on jumps, but a good jib board for those 2 months before it broke.

Responded on

And this review just affirms what I've said above. Though a cracked board can be, and usually is, the fault of the user, the fact remains that Jeff took pictures as evidence and was ASSURED he would have a warrentied board. Not only did Capita fail to honour their word as a provider to a customer invested in their brand and in need, but they didn't even refund him the cost of shipping DESPITE their lack of ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE. Not to mention the fact that they were the ones who told Jeff to send the board in with the promise of a warrenty.
It's stories and reviews like these that I appreciate, and keep me from spending good money on Capita boards. I'm aware of their jibbing capabilities, as even this review acknowledges, yet more often then not, I'm told by liftees and people at my local shop horror stories (no pun intended) about Capita, their shoddy construction (remember a few years back when Capitas all across the continent were delamming?), and even worse customer service.
