ease of use + familiarity = best beacon
this Beacon is really easy to use and coupled with the familiarity of the original Tracker makes it the best choice for me. The last thing anyone wants is to be stuck in a rescue situation with a beacon they aren't comfortable with. Do note that your smartphone can and will interfere with any beacons performance. It is a hard line to draw in the backcountry as your phone can also be a vital rescue tool. I'm sure beacon manufacturers have taken note and are doing something to improve this, but in the meantime, make sure the beacon and phone are at least separated from each other when headed out.
