First the double boa is misleading. Where other brands' double boa means one for the inner and one for the outer, this one means both for the outer, just one upper and one lower - which is completely unnecessary as one boa would do for the entire outer. You still have to tension the inner with laces just like a single boa. And the velcro strap on the inner is a bit cumbersome. Point being you may as well get a single boa and save the money. In addition these boots really dig in on the inside of the ankle. Not a break in issue, just poor fit. Also, the wire on the lowest part of the boa rubs directly on the fabric. It's obvious over time this will wear through. They are warm, they are stiff, and they do have high quality materials. Just poorly designed.

im not sure what's misleading here. a focus boa tightens both the upper and lower boot independently to help you fine tune your lacing. it's done to avoid pressure points that occur when you just have a single boa. i have both a single and a focus boot and the single boa sometimes make my ride unbearable when tightened too tight. the focus lets me customize.
