stay away from the bobsled
The greater majority of falls that any rider or skater takes on a day-to-day basis aren't typically of the catastrophic sort. Bern knows this, and designed the Hard Hat for such. Not needing the heavy crash certifications for this helmet keeps it much lighter, and profile-fitting than any other such helmet could hope to be. Without those certifications though, I wouldn't recommend it for any cycling or higher speed applications where you might have a higher probability of auguring yourself in.
Very comfortable, low-profile helmet. Could probably stand to use some forward ventilation to drive the air through the helmet a little bit better, but that would be an issue more for summer application. Also, the brim is a nice touch, but I couldn't help feeling like I was wearing a tee-ball helmet from back when I was 10 years old.
