Get your right size for your car and it will do the job. Never had a single problem with my roof rack. Don't skimp and buy some old ones or ones that aren't designed for your car. It could be bad news
I have an 05 legacy gt and for those that have the subie with the no frame above the window might wonder how the q clips grab onto the car. Usually the clips hold on to the metal of the actual frame of the car. I was a little skeptical about how these grab onto the plastic ledge just above the window. I can now say after a season of use that these things won't damage the plastic and can hold quite a bit of force from the rack. P.S. you don't need to grip stickers it comes with if you have my setup
My only frustration with these clips, was that (unlike 90% of Saturn parts), replacing my car with one 8 years newer, required changing the Q clips at all!
In all seriousness, the changeover between clips (and installation of stretch kit), went smoothly and flawlessly. The rule of thumb is that installing a rack takes up to two hours... and major changes take about that long as well. Having a 'buddy' to check measurements helps, but otherwise, work in daylight, check your measurements twice, and get out on the road... The 1,080 mile trip to Black Rock City, gave the new rack a solid "test drive", and left little doubt as to the quality of the rack... and the installation.

The description of my vehicle for selection of the Q-clips was not applicable.
It was impossible to define which Q-clip was relevant, without help.
The instructions could have been clearer, by adding a perspective view of the Q-clip installed.
I just posted a review and had the wrong number - Q124 works for both front and back of the Prius, not the 5's as suggested by Yakima. I think the original specifications for the Prius were the 124's and somewhere along the way they changed it to the Q5, which didn't seem to quite fit. In any case the clips work!
I've got a stack of car racks in the shed and then bought a yakima for an old Mercedes I owned, hated to buy another rack so looked for replacement clips to go on my Volvo. They work great. Took five minutes to switch them over. Cheers, Ship
So far, the Yakima system I put together from 3 different suppliers has worked just fine. I bought most components from this site as was pleased with the price. The system is fairly easy to setup and feels sturdy enough to not worry about putting my new Cannondale on. I certainly would purchase this whole setup again.
