Oakley SI Assault Boot - Men's    This product is no longer available

Oakley!!! 6" Boot - Not for slippery surfaces.   08-16-07

Used these as a "duty" boot for a year. Very good ankle and arch support. Wide toe box. Laces had to be wrapped around ankle to tie ... and would loosen all the time. Running is not out of the question with these shoes/boots. Fantastic in dirt... suicide on wet asphalt or road with a hint of oil. Super comfortable hiking and the sole wears well. Sized down: I usually wear an 11.5 Asics and in these I can still wear thick wool socks in these at 11.0. I HIGHLY recommend the new 8" boot from Oakley, if you can find it. Same size but way cooler (temperature) with arch vents/drainage holes.

GPS Pod Unreliable   08-14-07

Since I have submitted my last review I have been a tad bit annoyed with the reliability of the GPS Pod. The Pod initializes and does not acquire a signal 50% of the time to generate speed and distance readings. This has happened at the beach and in the hills to me... So I am of the opinion the whole "line of sight" with satellites is not an issue. These problems started to occur after I changed the batteries when the first set went kerplunk. Beware.

Nice!!!   09-28-07

My 166 Arbor Crossbow slipped in real nice with bindings still on. Has a pretty small accessory pocket for nothing more than socks and tools. Hook and loop closure business card id pocket. You can sling it over your shoulder or wear it like a backpack. We'll see how it handles air travel this winter...

Starchy????   11-08-07

I really like the cut and fit of these Kuhl pants. They are for guys who actually have some muscle in their thighs and want pants they can comfortably to a "lunge" in and not squash their privates. Zippered front pocket is reminiscent of more... female design accents... and cannot hold any mountain man's wallet. The stiff/starchy fabric panels are stitched in a way which makes you look like you are actually wearing leather chaps!!! Kuhl makes other pants in similar cut but not so... funny looking: "Hi-Low Cord" I acquired a pair of those and really ... really ... really like them.

Bit Scratchy...   11-13-07

This is definitely a solid piece of cold weather layering. When zipped up, turns into a very warm turtle neck. Has the sleeve cutouts for your thumbs - signature feature of Kuhl long sleeved apparel. This will definitely be part of my casual evening apparel this February in Whistler with a soft-shell on top of it all. My first donning of this item made me feel a bit scratchy but that is a very minor gripe. If you are 6-3 & 230 with long torso the XL is a slimming and fitted look ... Doesn't look like you ordered too small.

Get the goat!   09-10-08

This is a steal. A technical t-shirt for this price is rare. Fantastic fit and finish. And it has a goat on it!!! The website's graphics may make you think the heather denim color is gray... more of a blueish of a gray.

Oversized!!!   09-10-08

This is just a warning: If you look for an athletic cut in your shirts this particular shirt is over-sized. I ordered an XL and it looked and felt like an XXL. The fabric's feel and performance, however is very good. The thick material and pocket are a bit dated, but I feel necessary for a work shirt.

Green   04-22-08

These insoles are for people who need "motion-control" shoes - for larger/heavier athletes whose arches collapse on longer runs. I use these in my running shoes and my work boots and they have had a significant impact on my ability to run longer distances without my knees and lower back fatiguing. They squeak a bit when you walk around in them before they have been warmed up...

Oakley Gas Can Polo - Men's    This product is no longer available

Comfy...   09-28-07

Really like the cut of this shirt. Simple and classy... no loud patterns. Doesn't look like you are slouching at the shoulders. Long semi-fitted and slim lines. Bought the black and beige. Washed and didn't shrink. I usually buy large for polos and short sleeve button downs. Oakley is like Prana: sized for stick people. Size up if you have are "stout".

Impressive.   07-16-07

Out of the box and working in fifteen minutes. Calm down and read the instructions. Negative: GPS accessory uses AAA batteries, so get your own recharging setup and the quirky menu system takes some getting-used-to. Positive: Very light. I really like how this cat can switch between different activities seamlessly. I run and cycle and look forward to using this system on my road bike.

Impressive.   07-16-07

Out of the box and working in fifteen minutes. A bit of experimentation with buttons proved fruitless because the watch menu system does not function like standard digital watches. Once I calmed down and read the manual all worked and sync-ed up quickly. The only negative thing I have to say after the first run: I am disappointed the GPS Pod has no ability to recharge itself. Positive: It was way lighter than I expected.

My new best friend.   11-26-08

The only thing I have to add to all of the fantastic reviews is: If you want this jacket to last, you have to treat it right. My last Arc'teryx fleece got all screwed up when I forgot to take it out of the wash and line-dry it. It makes a huge difference. Using a dryer on anything other than air fluff by itself is asking for bunchy-fleece.

Perfect Replacement   11-26-08

But the question must be asked... "Why did you have to replace it to begin with?" I know I have powerful arms and the physique of a Greek god... but the rubber of even Swatch watches I wore when I was a kid never ripped clean off when I was removing a long sleeved shirt. The first strap ripped and the other ripped one week later. I have had the initial straps for about one year. The trade-off here is the light weight of the watch versus durability. I really like how light the watch is but I was disappointed in the durability of the watch band considering the price paid.

For riding and formal occasions...   11-01-08

Great socks! Too thin for mountain bike riding in my opinion. I would have preferred more heel and ball thickness. I wear them as dress socks. The pattern is an instant conversation piece for all those "normal sock" people. Washed three times and have not experienced any unraveling problems or shrinkage.

E.D. Problem.   11-01-08

The stacks fell down easier than the thicker models. If you wear 8-10" boots and you need them to stay up you might find it annoying how they droop during the day. If you are wearing shoes... no biggie. Otherwise fantastic. Exactly what I expect from Smartwool socks. Comfortable and dry-feeling all day long.

Undersized skinny-man pant.   10-10-08

If you have thick thighs watch out.. Very narrow at the thighs. These pants rest high at the waist... above my belly button... much like the pants my grandfather and my junior high English teacher wore. If you are looking for a relaxed or loose fit just above the hips look elsewhere. This cut will benefit the naturally long-legged and the narrow-hipped distance runners out there. Not for the beefy! Gusset in crotch was a pleasant surprise and the quality of the product was superb.

Ummm No. Get Superfeet.   10-08-08

I spend the majority of my workshift on my feet with 25 pounds of gear on my body. I spent today with the Yaktrax insoles replacing my green Superfeet. The Yaktrax insole has a bubble (for lack of a better term) in the middle of the arch support area. This immediately caused me discomfort. I recall when I first used Superfeet and it was instant relief and the superfeet had smoother contours. The stiffness of the Superfeet is was what solved my pronation problems. The Stable Trax insoles are softer at the heel and ball than Superfeet. I still found the support better than stock insoles, but I am going to put them into my casual shoes... Not my running shoes or my work boots. The other reviewer probably just has differently shaped feet than me.

Agree with DJ Nebula   10-08-08

Fantastic shirt. Shrinking is not a problem. I have broad shoulders and prefer an athletic cut. These shirts are oversized. I usually take an XL, but a L works perfect - for an athletic cut. Most other polos make me look like I have slumped shoulders but these are proportioned nicely.

Hidden treasure.   09-10-08

This shirt is a steal. Get it. Fantastic under layer for winter sports or motorcycling. It fits a bit loose... I'll probably use it as an outerlayer for running on cooler days. The XL slipped on perfectly for broad shoulders and slim torso. I love it when I find a brand that is affordable, functional, and fits.

Deceptive inseam...   09-10-08

The brief interior liner is very comfortable and supportive. I was worried these short's inseam was too short and would create crotch-bunching, but that did not happen for me. I am very happy with the performance of the fabric. I am curious as to why some shorts are coming out with labeling stating "rinse before use for best performance"... Perhaps it helps stop static cling...

Favorite shirt   09-10-08

I was worried the curving color accents would make my shoulders look slouchy, but the athletic cut (broad shoulders with slim torso) was perfect for me. The fabric feels luxurious on my skin. It was a bit slim about my shoulders, but if you are not doing bicep curls all the time it should be fine. This will become one of my favorite shirts. I'm just bent out of shape this Kuhl stuff seems to vanish so quickly from this website!

Great shirt!   09-10-08

To me size and fit is everything. I really don't care about any product unless the fit is dialed-in. This shirt is an athletic cut. It accommodates broad shoulders and a slimmer torso. The front of the collar is cut lower than the sides and rear. I found this a pleasant design accent which keeps the collar from irritating me. A concealed left breast pocket has an internal button slit for your compact audio player. I'll comment later about the reported "anti-funk" properties later...

Burton Superpipe Glove - Men's    Read other reviews of this product

Excellent.   02-12-08

I purchased these as a replacement for some Oakley Pipe Gloves - way too wet and cold. I am not cool enough yet to not fall down in the powder. These were a definite upgrade. Stayed water-tight in powder. You need to hold the "pinky" liner in when you pull your hand out or else you might have some trouble putting it back in. Fit and finish are excellent in the black/black. Stitching on wrist Velcro started to unravel after three days of use. Could still pull things out of my pockets with gloves on... No hot dog finger syndrome.

Saggy   02-12-08

A bit rough and saggy in the crotch. Found myself pulling up my snowboard pants because they sagged down as movement increased. I found this to be a great casual under layer... but my UnderArmour mid weights were much better for a higher level of activity. 6-4/235lbs in XL.

Oakley Large Rolling Gear Bag    Read other reviews of this product

...and the kitchen sink....   11-13-07

Fit and finish... This company really thinks about the products it makes. I stuffed all my winter gear into it and still had room for my snowboard boots. I am afraid there will be enough room to inspire my girlfriend to buy stuff to bring home. The compartments are logically laid out and easily allow you to separate clean/dirty items... and the mesh is nice because you can see what you are looking for before you rip your hair out wondering where things went. Small elastic tie downs for zippers are a bit of an irritation, but the classy look of the entire package definitely says: "I am an Oakley snob... fear me." I happen to like that.. and I am an Oakley snob. The identity badge is my only gripe. You are supposed to write you info on an alloy card. I fear my information could easily be rubbed off.

Second Favorite Pant...   10-08-08

When my hi-low cords from Kuhl are in the washer I break out these. This is a warm weather pant with plenty of room for muscular thighs or thermal underwear. The interior fabric is... I don't quite know how to describe it... it does not stick to your skin or hair... doesn't cause any static charging... The construction of the pants allows for plenty of room to lunge without feeling like you are going to bust a seam, while at the same time not sacrificing the butt-cupping properties my girlfriend likes in my jeans. It has a cellphone pocket on the right thigh that doesn't fit my Iphone at 2.5 inches wide... if your cell is 2.25 or less you should be fine. I am 37x32 and these pants sit now on my waist without a belt.

Shrank on me...   11-13-07

Really dig this shirt... I am not going to slight it because I screwed up and undersized. I can wear L in Mountain Hardware button down shirts quite comfortably. Their T shirts, however are another matter. Their cotton must shrink. Go with the XL if you are tall and husky like me!!! 6-3/230. This guy is definitely an under layer now. I have had no wrinkling problems with it out of the dryer like I have had with Reef and Oakley shirts from this website.

Pearl Izumi Vertex Microsensor Short - Men's    This product is no longer available

Fantastic fit and feel...   08-22-08

It amazing what happens when you just put down a few extra dollars. I had some $60-70 Pearl Izumis and noticed I had no room for my precious crotch cargo... felt like I was sitting on my basket. I then compared them to my girlfriend's Pearl Izumis and noticed the only difference was that her's were labeled "womens" and mine "mens". I shook my head in disgust and bought these after trying them on at a retailer. I am very happy with their fit and room for my manhood. I no longer look like some gag picture or worry about offending small children. The fabric is excellent at wicking moisture and is extremely comfortable.
