Bodacious Bindings Bumping Bunk Ratchets   09-27-08

So these bindings are great. They're responsive, comfortable, adjustable; They come with this soviet steez styling; The convertible toe cap is sweeeeet. All in all a great binding right? Right. But then you get to the ratchets. Putting them on is great. Insert, crank, apply innuendo and move along down the hill. But then you get the base of the mountain and you stand looking like a fool as you work your ass off for five minutes trying to get them to release. It's not just cause it's cold either. They're just ghetto ratchets. I mean ghetto if you like getting in and out. They're sick if you don't want them to release, ever... I mean like ever. Also: They lack the awesomeness of last year's metallic red. Still a great binding. You just can't get out of them.

Packable Puff   09-27-08

Tale of woe: I gave this Jacket away. Advice: Don't do what I did. This jacket is awesomely warm. The primaloft insulates amazingly well for how nonbulky it is. The 15 denier ripstop nylon holds up extremely well for how thin it feels. I got caught on a couple trees and never had a hole form. The best thing about this jacket is that you can cram it down in your pack and it takes up like 0 space. It's great. Do it.

Jolly Green   11-10-08

Amazing green beanie. I feel like a ripe banana when I wear it. And it's big enough that you can rock it all steezed out or you can cover your head from head to... head. It's warm, it's a beanie, it can be green. What more do you want?

Noice!   11-10-08

These 'ere gagles are the bees knees. Seriously though, used them on a couple of occasions and they perform great. They defog really well, despite what it may look like, and they have an excellent FOV. Really where it comes in to play with smith though is the Sensor lens. They are amazing. They provide some of the best low light, poor vis, definition that I've seen in a goggle. Seriously consider picking up a pair of these or the Phenoms. All in all I like the Phenoms a bit better as they seem to stay fog free a bit better.

Luv Glove   11-10-08

Great full leather glove. They put extra leather in all the right spots. It is a tighter fit than some other gloves I've used but it doesn't seem to not let your hands breath or cut off circulation in any way. The fleece lining on the inside is super soft and the primaloft does a great job of keeping your hands warm. The very first day I used them I had a slight problem with them freezing up. They'd get a little wet (although my hands stayed dry) and then it'd freeze. When I got back I treated them with the small thing of provided hestra leather balm and when I went out again a day later they were great and I didn't have any problems with them freezing up at all.

Goggle of the Gods   09-10-08

Awesome goggle. Comfortable fit, great field of vision and an anti-fog avenger all in one. The sensor mirror lens gives great vis during pretty much every condition. I bought them at the beginning of last season and they have yet to do me wrong. Even when they fog up you just open up the vents and take a run and any fog that was there is gone like that. Only flaw I had with them is that I scratched up the lens at the end of the season. I'm terrible at scratching lenses though (I've mangled a pair of Oakley crowbars and a set of Anon Figments as well).

Awesome duffel   09-10-08

I hauled this thing across South America for 3 months and it stood the test. It held enough clothing for me for the entire trip, plus room to spare for items picked up along the way. The material is super resistant and withstood a couple falls off of a moving vehicle (Ecuadorian bus system!) and all it did was scuff. It's also very water repellent (NOT WATERPROOF) and the couple times that I had it out in the rain my clothes and goods stayed mega dry. Overall it's the perfect duffel for the rough and tough adventurer/average trans South American visitor.

Stylin' Jacket   09-10-08

Great jacket for the price. I bought this bad boy in a large black and it seems to fit my frame very well (6' 3", 33 waist, blah) while still having plenty of room for a fleece hoody or whatever you choose to insulate with. I love the styling right down to its red zipper tabs. Even better, having a 3L lightweight jacket with room for layering means that I can rock the same jacket on a sunny day in April or a freezing death blow in mid Jan without overheating or chilling my nethers. One thing I would have liked to see is a mesh lining over the vents to keep snow out of my pits but you can't win 'em all.

Super Warm Synthetic   11-10-08

A guaranteed waterproof jacket with an amazing level of super warm Thermolite insulation. Used this probably half the time last season and I was never cold. In fact a lot of days I was a little too hot. The outer fabric is really durable and is actually surprisingly pleasing to the touch. It moves very well with the body probably thanks to it being designed for tele skiers (I rock it an I'm a boarder though). There are a couple gripes I have with it though. More like the subtle little features that truly make a jacket exceptional that were left out. First off, this thing doesn't have a powder skirt which is just silly. Secondly, the pitzips don't have a mesh lining to prevent snow from dumping in when you nose dive. Finally, and this is pretty minor but still another feature that I love in coats, no lycra cuffs. Otherwise it's an awesome jacket and you people should funnel some more cash in for this CO based small company. Maybe then we can get powder skirts!
