Description

No more fishbowl effect.

When other goggles feel like racehorse blinders, slip on the Electric EG2 and open your eyes to the world. The EG2's massive dual spherical lens won't reduce your range of vision, it presents the entire mountain as it was meant to be seen and gives you improved depth perception and increased reaction time. Anti-fog and anti-scratch coatings keep you riding fast and looking good, while contoured wicking face foam comforts your sensitive mug.

Awesome

Awesome goggles - found that the polarized silver chrome lens wasn't perfect for low light conditions so had to purchased the yellow lens. Other then that - great product.

Best Goggle I have Found

These are by far the best ski goggles I have worn. I have been on a quest for multiple years now trying to find a pair with good peripheral and up-down vision (I race occasionally - need to see up when in a tuck). I had found an OK match with a Smith pair (cylindrical lens, forgot the name), but they were still lacking. I finally found these for a steal (current $75 sale isn't bad at all) and I was hooked after one try. The dimensions are a bit larger than average, but it's nothing extreme and does not bother me in the least. It really is amazing what a small viewing angle other goggles give you - you realize that once you try these. Can't go wrong!

I also have not had any problems with fogging, even when hiking uphill. These goggles have a very comfortable face padding as well. The only potential downside I see is that they might get a bit toast if it's over 40 degrees or so... but that's what sunglasses are for. No gaper gap with these either.

Also note that you need to try them on with the helmet you will be using... They will not fit correctly if you simply try holding them to your face - they flex and mold to the shape of your face when tension is applied to the strap as it is on a helmet.

In fact, there's no chance I'll ever buy another goggles. These are the 100" HD LED TV, while all others (while being visually nice and optically correct) are like ipod nano screens. Of course, you can get used to everything, but you don't have to. Just get EG2.

can't go back

after a season with these I can't go back to other goggles again - best peripheral vision ever.

EG2 for Life!

Stealing a line from a previous review...these are going to be my goggles for life, or as long as they make them. They are amazingly huge...there is hardly any blocked vision. I got the amber/red fire lens. Great sun goggle. A little flat in low light/shadows, but what goggle isn't. Get them why you can before I stockpile them all.

Could you ask for more?

Andreas Wiig Model:

Just arrived today, and the wide vision was amazing!! when i took my helmet off and wore them solo, i looked like an alien because they were so big haha, but it was so cool...it actually fits around my xl helmet!! Now i just need to try these bad boys in the backcountry and vail in march!! Only thing I think I would recommend for someone wanting to buy this product would be to buy an extra lense like either yellow or clear for when its snowing or night time, which I will do now!! Buy them before they run out, because 100 on these was the best deal I could find on the internet!!

What are the blue lenses like?

Can they handle everyday use. I.e. Bluebird day to overcast?

I have all nice ski gear except goggles. but these will be my only luxury goggles. I want to know if I can use them.

Responded on

If you mean the Blue Chrome, those are better for cloudier days (66% VLT) as they are better at increasing contrast than blocking glare. I would recommend the Gold Chrome (25% VLT) lens as your all-rounder. Guess it looks kinda blueish when viewed at the right angle. Anyway, it has good glare reduction, and good contrast too - plus, they look super sick.

Are guys stocking any of the EG2s with the blue lenses, or are you carrying the blue lens as a replacement? If so, for what price?

I like the Wiigs, but would prefer a blue lens. As a result, I've steered more towards the Specter. I'm not a huge fan of the Atmosphere though.

Electric EG2 goggles with my K2 Rival helmet - pretty good fit, although the top corners tend to hit a bit on the helmet...
Also, they do tend to fog easily if I'm wearing a scarf and not moving; they also clear up pretty quick too though.

I just bought these goggles yesterday with the orange lens. Would the orange lens be sufficient for high and low light conditions?

Responded on

orange lenses are preferred for the low light conditions and low visibility overcast days, they are also sufficient for the sunny days although a mirrored darker lens will block more light and will be more comfortable but an orange lens is definitely a choice if you're gonna buy only one lens

Responded on

These should work well in low to moderate light. In really bright light I prefer a darker shade but I have really sensitive eyes so for most people they should be fine.
