This hoodie fits on the small side. I'm 6 feet tall and slim. The large fits me slimmish. So yeah, if you're 5 foot 9, the large should come to your finger tips.

Awesome hoodie! The fit is perfect and the heather looks fantastic! Its a little darker than in the picture, but it actually looks better that way.

Unlike snowboard jacket and pants, that for me have to be loose and baggy, sweatshirts must fit perfect. That's why I really like this Element product. Great colour (The black one is a bit darker than in the photo), comfy and soft enough for being not 100% cotton.
