Forum Recon Snowboard - 2005
Are you just getting into the snowboard scene? Forum designed the Recon Snowboard for entry-level sorties into the world of snowboarding. This reasonably priced board is oriented toward beginning riders who are more intrigued by freestyle riding but still want to check out all the experiences the mountain has to offer. To help you learn to carve, Forum combined their Compound Matrix core with a bi-axial construction; this creates a moderate-flexing board with more forgiving tip transitions and a loose feel, which allows for easy turn initiation. The Recon's core section between the bindings is thinned slightly, which creates a smoother flex pattern to help you get your flow dialed in. The tail of this snowboard is slightly stiffer than the nose, which adds stability on landings; when you do decide to air it out, be confident that you have a solid landing platform strapped to your feet. We recommend pairing the Recon Snowboard with the Recon boot and binding, also from Forum.
Bottom Line: The Recon should be standard-issue gear for entry-level snowboarding missions.
