Tool-less ankle and to-strap adjustments allow you to change up your vibes anywhere on the mountain
These are dime bindings, you can push your tail/nose presses with ease, but the flaw is in the fabric, Ive had these for the last season, and the straps start to loosen up and tear, so i am constantly having to tighten them back up. but if you take good care of them, you will be very satisfied with this binding.
These will work with the burton channel, as long as the burton board is 2011 or later. 2011 and later union bindings are compatible with 2011 and later burton ICS boards.

I got these bindings about two weeks ago. First thing I thought is that they look amazing. Don't be skeptic about the design. They're sick.
Pretty comfy, nice toe cap. A little on the heavy side. Sturdy binding overall. But, I was a little disappointed to find out that there is NO stance adjustment to center your foot to the board. I like riding bindings one notch back to give me that skateboard under your feet feel (slightly more heel overhang than toe). The only way to adjust this is to turn the baseplate 90 degrees, completely eliminating the effect of the goodvibes disc.
Lastly, THREE count 'em THREE parts broke BEFORE I EVEN RODE THEM. The highback rotation screw and toe cap/toe cap screw ALL got stripped on the same binding when I first adjusted them. I called Forum for replacement parts and they gave me a hard time about getting new parts. I ended up replacing the highback screw myself and forcing the toe cap to fit. So now I'm riding with a broken toecap and a screw I found in my shed in the highback.
Bottom line, GREAT binding, made like crap by a company with crappy customer service.
Binding has a great intention but I felt like there wasn't enough response. Maybe it's just my riding style but I felt uncomfortable riding these. Still love Forum though. Maybe just need a stiffer version like the republic
Yes, it comes apart from the heel jel pad. You feel like you are going to brake it but it snaps apart. look at the bottom and you will see where it snaps apart.
The Forum Shaka is the best 4 hole disk freestyle binding. This binding flexes 71% better than a traditional disk binding. Better flex= better feel which = better times. This is all thanks to the GoodVibes hinge disk. The disk actually hinges in the center, check out the pictures below.
The Shaka has more FGel in the Toes and Heels to give you even more cushioning than last year. We have added a new ankle strap called the Flip Flop strap that has two flex patterns. Check out the Video for more info.
The throwdown toecap is durable and holds you boot firmly to the back of the binding. The baseplate is 15% fiberglass and nylon blend with an aluminum heel cup. The Shaka is light and soft but it gives you the support you need.
I have last years SHAKA. I cant say that I wouldn't buy them again because my son wants a pair. My gripe with them is that the split base plate and living hing disk add more "flex". Maybe. However the edges of the binding were actually digging into the top sheet leaving dents where the binding was attached. I would assume thats where the "flexing" stopped. I wonder if that has been remedied or its the norm and not a big deal. I'm happy, but i wonder if should save some dollar and get the contacts for my boy.
cons Expensive - very hard to dial in - yes gimmicky - possible
Pros comfortable - oh yeah, very looks - so sick my friend response - excellent (wont be doing Baker slalom in these babies, but you say cut, and they slash)
09/10 arbor draft 158.5, 09/10 black Forum Shaka's.
shakabra shakabra shakabra.shakabra.shakabrashakabra.shakabrashakabrashakabrashakabrashakabra.shakabrashakabrashakabrashakabrashakabrashakabrashakabrashakabrashakabrashakabrashakabra. get these bindings or i will sodamise your family pet
Hands down the Forum Shaka. This flexes 70% more than any other disk binding. The ankle strap and toe cap are way better than the Contact. Shaka is a better binding.
these are the ish. Super comfy, easy ratchets and release. had a hard time setting these up. seems like the hardware is little short. Toes cap is like a bra for your boot. Cant say i notice the hinge baseplates but sure they give you a total board feel. Get these. I told myself, i would only ride unions but man these open my eyes.
So im a one of those hippie riders who is all about natural terrain and deep POW, but I ride park 2 out of every 5times. Is the flex responsive in deep snow?
Yes, the flex is responsive everywhere you ride. This binding is the best binding you can ride on a 4-hole disk board. Soo much better flex than any disk binding you have been riding. You will not be disappointed at all.
I had a pair of burton missions on my last setup, and I hated the toe cap. I was worried that the toe cap on these would be the same, but its so much better. The ankle strap and the toe cap are awesome and make these bindings. These power through any chop on runs and improve the board feel. Way worth the money!!!
I Got these gnarly binders for christmas bro and I was like woah! These are going to surf the snow so fresh! And they did. It was tubular. I have done some jumping and some jibing and even some urban so far and they are so rad man. The flex pattern is just off the chain, It's a pretty radical design. Feelin the vibes for sure. Straps are so dank, just perfect bro. And the foot bed is like OOHhhhhhh. Greg man, you just gotta be gentle with it man, you can't break your binders before you ride them man. That just isn't cool man. By farrr man the best bindings to ever go on one of my shred sticks. Get some forum boots too and your set for life bra!!! The skateboard theme is kinda whack though, there needs to be some waves on this binding next year for sure man. peace out! Pray for snow!
greg, the boss's are cool, but the targas are far better bro! i just replaced my shakas for the targas, and sorry FORUM, but im never looking back! Rome is dope and the targas are PRIME!!
Hey Ted, I get what you're saying but the screws were already broken. Also, I still haven't gotten the replacement screws from Forum yet, and I called weeks ago. I'm expecting Rome 390 Boss's in the mail tomorrow to replace these.
just bought these, and after putting them on my board, i am wondering if the tightness level of the screws has any affect on the amount of flex these bindings allow for? if i screw them in really tight, does the disc not flex like its supposed to?
Not at all. Tighten the screws as tight as you can. The flex comes from the binding and the disk. If you don't tighten your screws you could mess yourself up pretty bad.
This binding feels better than your girlfriend. It rides smooth, gives you a feeling of greater power and it never talks back. The throw-down toe cup is key as well to keep you knowing you're a one-man-army on the hill when taking those pillow lines or boosty booters. Nah na nah na.

Both are awesome bindings, the Force is pretty good. The Shaka will flex a lot better because of the hinge disk, so this will give you more board feel and better board control. Both are about the same stiffness. I would go with the Shaka; Better flexing, better toecap and more comfortable ankle strap.
