What is it that is so liberating about throwing a shaka in the air? Usually it happens before or after high fives with friends after stomping a difficult trick off a kicker. But it can also happen when nobody is looking, when you're dragging your other set of knuckles through some cherry gnar. Forum's flagship Shaka Snowboard Binding provides this euphoric feeling thanks to the Good Vibes tech package. But if you don't want to take our word for it, ask John Jackson.
Hinge Disk flexes with the board through two independent pieces, instead of a creating a dead spot; allows for 30 degrees of rotation and three nose-to-tail stance width options
Split baseplate offers board feel and natural flex more than any other binding by drastically minimizing underfoot materials
Simmer Down technology lets your foot rest on an angled dual-density EVA pad that is soft on the medial side (inside) and firmer on the lateral side(outside)
Flip Flop asymmetric ankle strap offers customizable flex that can be swapped on each binding for increased medial or lateral support, for whatever your vibes are
Full-length baseplate padding adds an extra layer of lightweight EVA to protect you from harsh flat landings and chatter from stupid moguls
I was wondering if these would be a good choice, i ride a pair of forces and i loved them but i was looking for something new. I like riding park mainly rails and some medium size jumps. Or should i just get something else
The forces are good binding, but the Forum Shakas are much better. The hinge disk combined with the split base plate will allow you to feel what you are rinding much better. Plus the price point is better. Good Luck, have a great season!
Dogfunk.com knows that no one wants the used-car-salesman experience, so we decided to show you the other guys prices in an effort to keep your shopping experience as informed as possible. Hey I just bought these bindings for next season cuz they seem dope. I want to use these on my Forum Rat which is camber with a flex of a 2. Will the hinge disk be alright with a soft ass camber rail board or should figure out how to get a differnt disk. I also have a DC MLF camber flex 7 that I eventually want to get some restricted cartels for but in the meantime would these be too flexy for a stiff advanced freestyle board that I use on large features like 60+ foot kickers?
They are dope. I have 09/10 shakas that are my most comfy yet responsive bindings. These are defiantly "do everything" type of bindings. Easy to strap in with one hand with gloves or mitts on. I have them on my 155 arbor draft, which is soft park board, and my 158.5 del ray which is cambered and a little more aggressive than the draft. the flex seems to come from the base plate area and not the high back. Real damp, lots of toe ramp, the way i like it. Be advised Sam, they seem a little heavy at times, but then these aint sissy bindings. There made tough. Also, they will mark up your top sheet bad, which i hate because I'm such a fan of the board art.
Sam, can you report back on how these work for you? Your bindings have something the older version don't, a supposed canting foot bed. can you let me know if its the real deal because i just got 390 bosses for the canting system but they seem kind of flimsy. if it works, i would buy a newer pair of forums, I like them that much. hope that helped
i have these bindings on my dc ply and they rock! very responsive, keep ur foot in tight, very comfortable (except at first), about mid flex, doesn't hurt when absolutely stomping a trick, highbacks are perfect, and they are fairly light. not flux binding light but i thought they would be heavier, and the toe cap fits perfectly! (i have thirty two ft boots). They look killer too. i recommend these bindings totally worth the price.
These bindings are the shit, seriously i cant believe how nice these things are. all the tech on them makes these bindings totally customizable, you can change these things so much they feel completely different

Not sure where this dude's getting his info, but medium men's Forum bindings fit a size 7-11 men's boot. Size large binding will fit a 10+. Go with a medium for sure. http://www.forumsnowboards.com/honeypot/tech/binding
Forgiving binding with a seriously comfortable ankle strap that gives you options to get rad anywhere! A binding that has cushioning and canting only when you need it but the power when it's time to get serious. Simmer Down now. A binding that's both relaxed and terribly capable with tons of underfoot flex thanks to Good Vibes Hinge Disk.
Tech: Good Vibes Hinge Disk Good Vibes EVA footpad with New Simmer Down canting and FGel cushioning in the toe and heel Flip Flop Ankle Strap - Switch it up! Throwdown Toe Cap Strap 30% glass-filled nylon with an aircraft grade aluminum heelhoop
-Additional Tech: Tool free ankle and toe strap adjustment
Since the shaka has the re flex baseplate technology, can these bindings work on a burton EST board? The plate that comes with the bindings is for a standard 4 hole board, but I want to put these on my est board and don't know if i can seperately buy a disc that will alow that. Anyone know?
Sorry bud, 4x4 inserts only. The only binding in the Forum line that is compatible with the est system is the Recon($120). It comes with the "Forum Multi-Disc".
