No instructions

Watch came with no instructions, only a link, but the online link was for a different watch. Never was able to use it. Returned, very disappointed. Bought a Casio instead, very happy with that.

Nice watch, poor form

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got this watch thru S&C at a stellar price...

First one of DoA. Second one was also DoA but was remedied with a new battery and some help at the local jeweler.

Instruments are accurate as far as I can tell. The only thing I have yet to find is the back light it supposedly has!

i really like this watch i have small wrists, so i was a little shocked how big it was, but it is all good after i wore it for a bit, it wore on me, now i love it. i really love this watchs its got everything i need. if your an accessory man then you will love this watch!!!

I'd also like to know if this works for...

I'd also like to know if this works for skydiving. It looks like a nice watch, but I need an alti as well.

If you're trusting your life to your wrist bling (ie skydiving) I would probaby choose a skydiving specific altimeter. The altimeter in this watch is meant for gradual climbs, like hiking. Probably not intended rapid-fire, super accurate altitude measurements.

Unanswered Question

How well would this watch work for skydiving?...

How well would this watch work for skydiving? Does it update the altitude fast enough or is it slow when climbing or falling at a fast pace? Is the display big enough? Does it have a backlight, and if yes, does it stay on for however long you you want it to?

THANKS!

Great watch

I never ride without this watch. I have a small wrist and the band is big enough to wrap around the outside of my jacket so it's always visible. I no longer need to remove a glove to check the time on my phone. Also the screen is big, crisp and easy to read. Outside of those basics the specialty features all work great. As I plan on doing more backcountry this watch will be a big asset to have. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a feature packed watch.

Great So Far!

So I've only had this watch for a couple of weeks and need more time with it but so far it has been great. I've taken it on some longer hikes with a lot of vert and it tracks altitude extremely well. Once everything is set up it seems easier to use than my Suunto Core but feels beefier. I was a little hesitant because of the price but I am getting to be very pleasantly surprised. I don't have a single complaint thus far but I'll write more when I've used it for 6 months to a year.

Is the Freestyle USA Nomad altimeter watch made in the U.S.A.?

Responded on

Nope... I'm not aware of a single altimeter watch that's made in the USA. Most are either made in Finland (Suunto or Polar) or China (pretty much everyone else).

Responded on

Its probably made by 8 year old chinese children with incredibly small hands and screwdrivers..... and so are the skis under most peoples feet

It is a large watch face. Honestly, it's one of the largest altimeter watches on the market. It even surpasses the Suunto Vector in diameter, but not thickness. You do get used to it though.
