solid helmet for the price
ive never worn a helmet in my life. now that im 32 and have a family i figured its a good investment to protect my melon. took a few spills on a slalom course and bumped my head pretty good. the helmet took all the impact and i feel a little more confident trying new moves on the board. :)
Awesome Helmet for The Extreme Snowboarders
This is literally the best helmet a person could ask for. It's very comfortable and very strong. It saved my life for instance and now i am getting another one. A kid on a snowboard cut in front of me on a black diamond hitting the front of my board. I was sent tumblin down the mountain at wolf creek. This helmet is what truly saved my life. I did break a few bones but if you're serious about life then it's time to protect your melon. Buy this helmet and you'll be grateful.
Great helmet. Spend a few more $ and uprade for tunes.
Worth the $ to get it with the tunes. Buy the one with audio! They fit a lil tight, I rec ordering up a size if you are in between sizes. Falling on rails, this lid keeps prevents concusions. Good venting keeps you cool. Mesh and design keep you dry. Padding keeps you warm. Tunes keep you rocking. The speakers work great, crisp sound. Ive nailed a box or rail or ice head first several times and been sooo glad i had this. Nothin but love for this helmet.(audio version)
How do the earpads connect to the helmet?...
How do the earpads connect to the helmet? I have Giro tune ups earpads from my older helmet and wanted to know if they will work for this helmet.
It just slides out from the shell, with a small strap holding it to the main straps. Pull it out and slide it off.
Comes with several size 'liners' that you can change out to perfect the fit, make sure you use them if you need them, and size your head with your ski/snowboard hat on!
My only (minor) complaint is that the chin strap is hard to adjust on-the-fly and the fuzzy thing that keeps it from rubbing your chin tends to slide badly towards the side w/ the buckle. The goggle clip works great, keeps my eyewear right where I need/want it.
Helmet also has lots of flat space for stickers, but vents very well.
This is my first helmet and i really like. When i'm skiing i totally forget i'm wearing a helmet it feels just as comfortable as a beanie. It doen't get to hot and the ear pads keep your ears warm and you can still hear. The chin starp can get irritating but its no big deal. Overall its a great helmet and i reconmend it.
I like this helmet because it is pretty warm without getting really hot. It looks good and feels good on my head. Only complaints is that the ear cover start to hurt my ears after a while on the mountain and that with my goggles on the helmet gets pulled upwards a little so that it sits back on my head. other than that its a good helmet.
AN OKAY HELMET..
I got this helmet last year. And I like to do a lot of park and backcountry. But every time I hit my head whether I hit it Soft or Hard I always get a headache.

What do you wear under helmet, and how do I know what size to purchase?
Most cases will require nothing underneath. They make thin balaclavas to go under for extra cold days.
After 13 years boarding I finally got myself to buy a helmet. I cant afford to crack my head and never work again.
Helmet is simple and safe and doesn't look like a giant melon on your melon. Worth it to save my head.

Does this Giro Encore helmut have a hook for goggles?
Yes it does. It has a hook that snaps on with a button.

i was wondering if this helmet works well for park style. (hat and goggles under the helmet)
Nice looking helmet but it is not cool or functional to wear you hat and goggles on the inside. Trust me!

Any goggle gap on this? I've heard on the G10 there are some issues with Anons but Smiths work great. I have Spy Blizzards if that helps.
I actually went ahead and ordered this helmet on Tramdock anyway. Fits great and there's no gap between it and my goggles. Really excited to hit the slopes and test it out.
Simple and Solid
This helmet works well for me on most days. Adequate coverage and you don't feel like a mellon head. Good curves, skate styling looks great on the slopes.
