Protects the Dome!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm a huge fan of Giro and not just because I have a big head and limited on my helmet choices. This is my 3rd Giro helmet and will be picking up a new one this season for sure. I get a new one every year after a season of abuse. Seam is great comfortable, adjustable, fits great and tough. I know that helmets are supposibly made to take a single hard hit only but in all honestly if that was the case I would be buying one after 1 day in the park. Ive taken some hard hits and the helmet saved me each time. Also gotta mention that Giro customer service is outstanding. One of the adjustment pcs broke after a hard hit called Giro they sent me a new one for free no questioned asked. Highly recommend.

Comfortable, light, easy to ventilate

Really enjoy this helmet. It fits very well both on my head as well as w/ goggles. The chin strap is very comfortable and is easy to clip w/ gloves on. Same goes for opening the ventilation! Easy goggle clip in the back as well. Overall, this is my favorite helmet I've owned and hopefully it will last for many years.

Great Helmet Highly Recommend

Helmet fits great not only on my head but with my huge goggles. It's also very comfortable and warm. The vents definitely work on a warmer day. Haven't taken any hard hits this season but I'm sure the Seam would protect.

Any women out there that can attest to this product? I fit a size S in the Giro nine/10 so figure I'd probably fit the same size for this. Thoughts?

Responded on

S in another giro means you should go for the same size for this one .

But it is fit that matters. You need to try it on to see if shape of your head is a match to the shape of this helmet.

I like this helmet, it good all around. The only nitpick is when I'm hiking around the Jackson slackcountry, the dial (to tighten/loosen up the fit of the helmet) on the back of the helmet makes it harder to look up hill when you are hiking up steep aspects. I hook it to my backcoutry pack & I'm all set. A very minor nitpick. In general, I'm happy overall.

Boyfriend loves it

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I bought this for my boyfriend who is an ok snowboarder. We tried it out at a local store and bought it on BC. This is an older version. The only difference I've noticed so far is the padding of the ear flaps - the latest one in store is mesh and a little harder while the older version has softer fleece-like material. It feels warmer but who cares! Actually I do that's why I use a Smith helmet : )

The ventilation is great, you can easily adjust how large you want the vents to be on top of the helmet. Some other brands I shall not name have really stuck clips that are very difficult to adjust on the go.

We took it on the slopes. At the end of the second day he found that the plastic strap of the fitting system was broken... He didn't fall hard at all... Has to be a defect and BC kindly accepted the return. What a pity...

Fits like a glove

super light, Easy adjustment both on size and venting. Great style, it just feels great, does not fit my quicksilver hubble goggles with the outer helmet strap but fits them very well inside the helmet

GREAT helmet

As advertised, the seam has a super low profile and fits my head really well. Compatible with the two different goggle manufacturers that I've tried it with (Dragon and Smith). No gaper gap. The matte grey is awesome!

Nice but size a bit off

This is my first Giro ski helmet, I have used their bike helmet and loved them. Nice vent system, light, and very comfortable. My size is 23" or medium ( max 23.2"). It was too tight. So I returned it and bought a large. The large fit well with one notch to spare on the " In Form system". I would recommend that you be careful at the limits of the size range, the Medium would fit 22.75". Great color range so you can match your ski's, outfit. etc.

WOW-

What a comfort, what a line. Add a pair of Giro googles and guaranteed you'll have a blast. Awesome. I previously owned a Giro Bevel, also good but bulky.

A perfect helmet

Great helmet. I’ve used it in winter storms as well as spring skiing – the vents are easy to use and work well. Extremely well made and comfortable.

nice helmet

Got this helmet at the end of the season this year. My last hemet was also a Giro so when I put it on it just fit like a glove. I was only able to use it once but there is still some snow on the hill....the vents are nicely placed and I really like the size adjustment, gives a nice fit. I have Oakley crowbars and they fit fine. Giro makes a great product and I would certainly by another of their helmets!

Dome Saver

I fell on the mountain and broke my tailbone my head whipped back hard on the ground, if not for the helmet it would have been much worse!!

I'm looking at this helmet for my son for his birthday, his head circumference is 23", what size should I buy? He has a pair of Spy Apollo goggles, will these work with this helmet?

Responded on

If he's right at 23", get him a Medium. Any bigger than 23 1/4", go Large.

The goggles will work - they're helmet compatible.

Great Bucket for Your Melon

The Seam is an awesome helmet! I've never ridden/skied a run in my entire life without a helmet and this one is the best I've ever used. Its light, stylish, and very warm. The best part about this helmet is the venting system. Other helmets (ex: Smith) have tiny vent levers that are a pain to out whereas the Seam has a large lever across the top that makes it very easy to open with gloves or mittens on. The chin strap is easy to adjust and comfortable as well. The size adjustment in the helmet is also an awesome feature that allows for a better, snug fit. Just some advice- don't try to rock Oakley A-Frames with this helmet because it will leave gaps on your forehead.

Get this helmet. You won't regret it.

some may have a rattle

There seems to be some variance in quality control, some units may have a very rattle in the slider when the vents are fully open, while other units are rattle free. Even if you get a rattling helmet though, you can either close the vents a little bit or just put a sticker over the slider.

Either way though, pretty comfortable helmet, now waiting for snow so i can try it on the slopes.
