It fits my tiny head!

I have had the hardest time finding a helmet that actually fits my tiny head and is comfortable, let alone one that is audio compatible! I love this helmet but have yet to find an audio system that actually works well with my iPhone 4s.

My dome seems to be 56 cm about. Will i fit into a small? Really want that red one!!!

A small is going to be really tight, I wouldn't recommend it. Sorry mate :/

Nice Helmet

Overall, a nice helmet. I feel that it runs quite large though, making your dome piece look pretty big. From the sizing chart, I was on the small end of the "Large" size, which is what I purchased. In hindsight, I should have purchased the medium helmet as the internal adjustement will allow you to open it up. I later tried on a medium in a store and was able to get my head in their comfortably. My only real complaint is the clip for the chin strap. On most helmets, the clip is offset to allow for a chin pad. On this helmet, the clip falls directly under the chin, which does not allow for any padding and can cause some minor doscomfort. I eventually got used to it, but I think that Giro should consider this in future designs.

One other thing I forgot to mention... the goggle strap holder on the back is pretty flimsy. It works well for keeping your goggles in place, but I used it to attach my helmet to my backpack and the fabric pulled over the bolt that holds it in place. I was able to jimmy a new strap since the bolt can be removed with an allen wrench, but a plastic or rubber strap would be a nice addition. Even with these faults, I still like the helmet very much for its simplistic style.

large profile

I ended up returning the helmet only because the profile is HUGE. The helmet runs a little large but is easily adjustable with the fit system. Helmet looks sweet and fits nicely with the adjustable system and is lightweight but def makes you look like you have a huge dome

Let 'er rip.

Light

Great helmet, and it doesn't feel like you have a weight on your head like others do. Keep up the good work Giro.

Sweet style!

Got my Giro Surface S helmet a couple weeks ago, and then I bought some drop in tune ups for it from skull candy. Helmet fits great and goes great with my oakley goggles.

Yeah, but you have to buy the tune-up Drops by skullcandy that are for Giro helmets. I got my Tune-Ups for $30.

how. Protective are these helmets, and how well do they hold up to multiple impacts like falling rocks. I would also like to know are they good for multiple activities, like kayaking for example.

Thank you very much in advance.

Runs a bit small/narrow

Light and nice looking,

However it does run a bit small/narrow. I fit perfectly into a Giro G10 (MX)in Medium with the adjuster all the way open. My head measure 59.5

This one does not fit in M, it's too narrow. I can feel the foam and plastic from the adjuster pressing into my head.

Responded on

Actually you can move the adjuster apparatus lower. This actually felt borderline ok. However it still squeezed a bit, and it was still too tight on the top point of my head. Somewhat shallow.

You can also take the adjuster out completely. This was the best, but then it moved around a bit too much, too much space fore and aft.

All in all, this helmet is more ellipsoid than the G10. Which might work for you.

Oh yes there is no way to close the vents, there is some mesh screen over them. You could use some duct tape. In general it felt a little cheapy compared to the G10.
