Doesn't work well with iPhone 4s

I got this for my iPhone 4s. The volume adjustment sucks and the sound is crackly. I sent these back almost immediately. I'll stick with my Icon 2 headphones till Skullcandy can make a Helmet audio system that actually works well.

I am looking for a compatible drop in audio/headphone for the "Scott" helmets. What is compatible?

if i could give 0 stars, i would. these are the worst things ever. misleading, the cords do NOT thread through the bottom of your helmet earpads! instead, the earphones are dropped in upside down in the earpad with the wire threading out on the back of your neck, or under your chin... pressing against the side of your cheek. not comfortable.
seriously mad i wasted money on these.
OH and when i tried using them, NO sound came out. at all. did i mention i just bought these today, and they've never been used? thanks a lot skullcandy... NOOOOOOOT.
They work

I used these in my Giro helmet and they work good. The only complaint I have is they are kind of bulky so it made my helmet pretty tight around the ears. The mute switch is pretty sensitive too, it's easy to hit it on accident.

I haven't had a chance to test these on the mountain yet but so far:
They easily installed into my Revolver helmet. The cable is the perfect length to route the quick disconnect to either side of the chin strap making it easy to disconnect it when removing the helmet. Any excess wire was easy to tuck under the velcro pads inside the helmet leaving only the white disconnect exposed, can hardly tell they are installed.
The inline volume/mute was easy to connect to the earbud loop in the neck of my LibTech jacket and there is plenty of cable to use my iPod without looking like a dork. Sound reproduction is decent, the speakers are actually pretty large.
My only complaint: The volume could be a bit louder, but that could just be my iPod. It's loud enough just sitting here testing it but I'm not sure how well it will do with wind noise. I think it should be fine though.
All in all, Great product for the price. Would definitely recommend it to anyone with a Giro Helmet.
will these work with red helmets too?

Does not work with Droid X (2) 3.5mm pin configuration

Just as it states. Apple uses a reverse connection set up on their 3.5mm jacks. Music will play and volume can be controlled but the and answering function and microphone do not work on other phones.

The length of the cord between the ear pieces is not long enough. giro reccomended to just let the cord dangle under my chin. i got the red phones and the are a little bigger but actually fit helmets.

These drop right into the ear pad on the adult Giro helmets. Sound is sweet, and they plug into my ipod. Now i just need the snow to fly.

Disclaimer: I have no used this while snowboarding I purchased these headphones recently in the off season. The only reason why I gave 4 stars - because it has not passed the ultimate test, surviving my falls on the terrain park. Please see the following comments so far:
1) Giro Tune-ups say they will ONLY work with Giro helmets. That's a load, I have a womens 2011 Burton RED Advid Medium and they fit in there nicely. My helmet has a hole in the back near the right ear. I just ran the connecter wire through the hole. There is a little bit of slack on the right ear but other than that I just neatly put the wire in the foam and zipped it up fine. It took me a whole 5 minutes to do.
2) The mute button is not really all that sensitive. Even if it is, I highly recommend clipping it on the inside of your jacket. You can turn the mute on and off with a glove without a problem; however, It doesn't look terribly water resistant so I would probably take my glove off just to be safe anyways.
3) Sound quality. Ever since I bought skull candy headphones last year I will never buy any others. I am not sure if skull candy has a lifetime warranty like they do on all of their other products but because Giro distributes them I think it's just a 1 year manufacturers warranty. It says so on the package. I do not have much to compare these tune-ups to and I apologize I am not well versed; however, in a direct comparison to the built in headphones my boyfriend's Demon Brain Teaser helmet, the skull candy's are much better.
4) Shock test. I put them in my helmet and jumped around and moved around like an idiot in my living room and it did not cut in and out like some reviews said. Perhaps this will be covered under "manufacturer's defect" and I would send those puppies back for new ones. But like I said, they have not been subjected to the ultimate test of survival hitting the terrain parks.
In conclusion, it is not a bad price at all. I mean skullcandy headphones themselves run from $14 for ear buds to $100 over the ear headphones and they are superior quality. I even go out on the limb I personally like them over boise (plus they look cooler).

Which Smith skull candy versions are you talking about? Smith Skull Candy Twin Tip Drop ins? they didn't get good reviews on every website either. Skull candy has never let me down. Unfortunately they don't just sell the headphones on their site.I have both a samsung infuse with bluetooth capabilities and an 2nd generation iPod Nano. Anybody have any experience with any of these?
I also have a 2011 Burton RED Helmet (Medium) if anyone knows if it will fit? The Burton red audio drops are 40mm speakers.

Bought these to go into my Giro Prima helmet that comes with ear pads that are designed to get drop-ins. These didn't quite fit, but they work well (sound-wise) and doesn't wiggle around the earpads. The mute button is quite sensitive, so put it in a spot that won't get many accidental touches. If nothing else, it beats wearing earbuds.
Very Poor Design

I purchased the Giro G10 MX and 2011 giro Tuneups made for 2011 and 2010 helmets. The first issue I noticed was that the Tuneups AV connector was set spaced equidistant from the two earphones, which is a major flaw for the Tuneups as this puts the AV connector in the back of the helmet and not through the earpad like the instructions stated. Honestly, this is the only flaw they needed to turn me off. They could sound great, but I didn't even bother plugging my ipod into them.
I did a little homework, and purchase the RED Red phones for RED Helmets with the hopes that these earphones would fit comfortably as well as fit as the giro Tuneups should have. They fit comfortably, convienent positioned, and sound great as well! Needless to say, It is sad that Giro Tuneups design doesn't work with their own gear.
hope its a defective unit

As soon as I started using them the music continuously came in and out, it seems to be a problem with the mute button being way to sensitive, I keep it on the inside of my jacket on my suspenders and the bouncing from moguls causes the button to push in, will try to return hoping it is just a defective unit!!

I had the same problem but I solved it with getting a normal aux cable to connect my mp3 to them

Hey,
Your best bet is to contact Skullcandy or perhaps Giro directly. I'm thinking Skullcandy though since they make it.

Huh, good luck with that! I've been looking everywhere for this exact same thing. Giro and Skullcandy both don't offer it, although it makes zero sense.
