Embrace your on-hill ADD.

Gnu's Riders Choice C2BTX Snowboard serves as a one-board quiver for all-mountain freestyle shredders who want a deck that can do it all. The C2BTX hybrid-rocker design balances the floaty, freestyle-friendly characteristics of rocker with the power and pop of camber—which means you learn more tricks and have more fun on every type of terrain.
  • C2BTX places rocker between your feet and camber zones extending from the inserts to the contact points
  • Magne-Traction edges create additional contact points for improved control in firm snow
  • Twin shape lets you throw and land tricks in both directions
  • AG1 wood core is poppy, light, and sustainably farmed
  • Sintered base is fast and tough—just be sure to wax it once in a while

I was looking at a few boards and it took me a while to pull the trigger but I'm glad I went with this one. Was looking for a board that would be able to do it all and rider's choice does just that. All I'd ever had before was traditional camber boards. Been snowboarding for 15 years, since I was 9-10. The C2 just makes turning too easy. Don't see how you could catch an edge on this thing. The magnatraction is sick. If you get mostly icy conditions, you absolutly need it. Grips like hell. I mean you can actually carve the ice, not just slide around. Haven't had it slip from under me so far. You know that "oops" moment when you realize you're gonna land butt first on that ice? No more. Don't really hang out in the park so can't comment. Bombing, no problem. This board is fast and stable. Powder, no problem. Groomers, the control is so sick. This is getting a bit long so I'll say this: If you have several options and can't decide, just go with this one. Go ahead, do it. I'm 6"0, 165lbs, got the 157.5 cm.

does this board have a full metal wrap? I had a lib tech jamie pheonix and the metal edges did not wrap around the entirte board. I know GNU are made by Mervin as are lib tech and am wondering if the 2012 model has the full metal edge or not?

Hey,

Negative. GNU and Lib don't do full wrapped metal edges.

If you're openly willing to drop $500+ on a board, my opinion is: erase any thought you have of buying a Gnu. I have nothing against them, but for that kind of dough, there is one infinitely better option.

There's absolutely no tail/nose chatter at 55mph+; the RC is perfect, and makes the deepest of the deep absolutely effortless. The durability in NS boards are simply unmatched by Gnu or even Lib, hands down. I'm sure the Rider's Choice will charge something fierce, but you'll be much happier, for much longer if you spend the same amount on a NS, guaranteed.

What are the main differences between this board and the 2008/2009 version? Is it worth it to upgrade?

Slight tweaks to the wood core, but the main difference is the graphic. Gnu did add an asymmetric version of the riders choice and it's INSANE! So fun and worth the upgrade!
