Dodge flying fish hooks when you ‘clip-clap’ through the wharf aboard the Gold Coast Pier Longboard. The soft 57mm Vicious wheels stabilize your ride over the rough planks, and a seven-ply Canadian maple deck responds to your quick turns when a fish flops into your path. The 27-inch Shovel Board bridges the gap between cruising longboards and modern freestyle decks with a kicktail and die-cut grip tape, so you can stop for a bowl session in the skatepark on your way to the pier for some uber-fresh shrimp.

I love this board sooooo much only because of the size, controllability, and the overall smoothness of the ride.
would any trucks fit on it? are there different sizes of trucks?(im

Any trucks should fit on it; trucks do come in different widths, some are a couple of inches wider than others. You'd just want to make sure they're wide enough that your wheels don't bite (rub on the bottom of the board when you turn). Any pair of trucks that you've had on another long board should suffice, standard trucks from a standard board might be a bit narrow.

Iv had this board for about 3 months and its pretty fun. The wheels that come with it are junk. I was just cruising around and a fat chunk came off the back wheel. Iv pretty much road the shit out of this board and its time for a new one. Its been run over and is still in tact, and its a steal for the price. I still cruise on it with the big 70mm wheels and that's pretty fun. If you were to get this board i would recommend getting new wheels, they just got chewed up by the roads that are a little rougher. Hope this helps.

Is this a good cruiser for a kid?
I'm looking for a cruiser for a 7-Year-Old. He can skate on his cruddy toys-r-us, but just barely. He's pretty big for his age. He wants a board that will glide smoother and not fall into cracks. I'm only looking at shorter, lighter boards. Between this and something like the Speed Demon Cazh, would a wider board/ bigger wheels help or harm for a kid who's learning? When I was his age (in the 70s), I learned on a banana cruiser and it was a blast!

this is a cruiser board but the board your sone is probably skatin on is a short 32 in trick short board . but these kind of oards are just for cruising and very limeted tricked for the more advanced skaters.

Super fun little board. I take it everywhere with me, it's smaller than a regular skateboard which takes a little getting used to, but after a few minutes with it, I was having a blast. Great alternative to a bike and much less likely to get stolen.
There are easier boards to "bomb hills" on, but you can do it on a Pier. It wasn't designed to be a race board by any means, more of a cruiser like @Josh Chapman mentioned above. Tighten those trucks and watch out for speed wobbles.
