Gold Coast Venice Longboard - 2010

Sure, the graphics on the Gold Coast Venice Longboard could be taken as a colorful tribute to some island and African nations, but this is a SoCal-bred sidewalk surfer. Wide trucks let you carve deep, but the relatively small 60mm wheels mean speed will come effortlessly when it’s time to outrun the stinky guy begging for change on the Venice boardwalk. The Venice boasts a kicktail to aid in rapid direction changes and front-end lift to avoid instastops courtesy of conniving cracks and sneaky pebbles.

  • Wheel colors on completes may vary, but the deck graphic will be as pictured.

Bottom Line: Pebbles suck and cracks are lame—a kicktail is the solution.

Great first Board

By:
October 20, 2011

I've had this board for about a month now, not only is the board very nice (solid board with no flex), and decent trucks, the customer service is excellent and helped me with all of my problems almost instantaneously! Only thing was that the bearings were not exactly the best, other than that everything else was great.

Ya the wheels will be good for slides. A bearing with an ABEC 5 or 7 would be a great bearing. Some that would be good are enjoi ABEC seventeenish (come with 2 extra bearings, Bones Reds, Bones Swiss (more expensive but good), ATM ABEC 5 (great price).

BIG BOY BOARD

By:
October 6, 2011

i am 6'3 230 and this board is perfect for big people. it outright carves like a demon. The wheels are super soft and they chunk badly if your tearing up sidewalks. But this thing tears down hills, you get the feel of surf/snow the way you can just rip on your back foot. I love this board. Big dudes buy this.

you might be able to make it up to a 65. You also are able to purchase some risers to eliminate your wheel bite as well

Alright but stiff

By:

A pretty fun board all together. Great for bombing hills and decent for carving. Trucks are awful tho (i just switched em out for gullwing chargers), and wheels took a little while to break in as well. My main complaint is that the board has virtually no flex and is very stiff.

i agree with nate marcus, century trucks suck. they dont turn unless u loosen them alot. and im 90% sure after riding them that the bushings are made of plastic. just like free skateboard trucks at walmart. second, gold coast makes really generic decks. i wouldnt drop 180 on this. sector 9 makes better decks and they hook their decks up with gullwing trucks which are usually pretty good.

I bought this a while back. I love the board shape itself. Its perfect for flat ground stuff and yet long enough for cruising and bombing hills. I just replaced the trucks after i got crazy speed wabbles at low speeds. I have never heard of century trucks but i bought some gullwig chargers and they work great. I also switched out the bearings for REDS. Coasts much further now.
