Gold Coast Whizz Longboard

Your ability to do everything barefoot and never lose sight of what's ahead, even with your luscious locks in your face, is inspiring. So inspiring, in fact, that GoldCoast crafted the new Whizz Longboard from recycled plastic to give Mother Nature high-fives and to withstand harshness from your dirty dawgs. Cherry Bomb wheels (mounted to narrow, short-radius trucks) are the ideal blend of firmness and size to let you whip through crowds of dirtbags, tourists, and local performers.

Bottom Line: Whizz-on.

Don't think twice

So the board did take some time to get used to, changing from a typical longboard, but it was nothing a few hours couldn't solve. I will say that at first I was super disappointed with the bearings, but they got a lot better as they got broken in. It's a stellar board. It's way fun to ride and so far I have no complaints about the material. Just let the bearings get broken in and it's a killer deal for cruising.

I've never heard of specific Dogfunk stores, but you could get it shipped to your hotel or a friend's house or something. That's what my exchange student friend did.

Just a fun street board. Lots of deck flex and great wheels.

How durable (strong) is it. is it like a penny board where it can be run over by a car and still be fine or is it way to easy to break?

Silly car you can't ride a skateboard, you are a car.
Seriously though:
The plastic used is very durable, but it is designed to have a banana board (flexy) feel. I've ridden mine for months and it's just as fun as the day I got it.

Bananas

This board is fun and flexy, like a true banana board should be. Really portable and light, and looks rad. The woodgrain on the top is my favorite design feature. Looks totally different from other plastic boards out there. Wheels are soft and grippy, hard to powerslide. Over all, would say a great bang for your buck.

hey, i love these little boards, and this design is my favorite. i was wondering if im just too big for this board. im 6'1'' and 225lbs, with a size 13 shoe... i mean i know im already too big for this board, but whats your height and weight? because if its doable, i'd really consider it...

Does the size of this board make it harder to handle? I've been riding longboards for a while, but I wouldn't consider myself an expert, and they've all been 36+ inches.

The small size is great for portability, but will ride very differently from your 36"+ longboards. Much like a snowboard set up, you choose different boards for different styles of riding. I use my Whizz to get from the train to work, mellow hill bombing around my neighborhood, and if I need to pop over to 7-11 or something. Would not recommend as a board to bomb steep hills on, but hey, I'm a wuss like that.

Yeah, it was just different to control, like losing your balance while kicking etc. But with it being small it's a lot more fun to take on flat ground when cruising to class and stuff. I haven't hit any major hills or anything, and don't really plan to, so I don't know what speed will do.

Hey Carsen,

Not necessarily "harder" to handle but it does change the type of ride drastically. It depends what you want to do with it and your style. With you always riding 36+ you probably wouldn't like a board this short. It will make tighter turns but won't be as stable at high speeds.
