Over millions of years single-cell, ocean-dwelling organisms adapted arms, legs, brains, and lungs in a preliminary transition to life on land. Long after, man arose from the muddy pools of the planet, invented fire, built the wheel, knocked women over the head with clubs, and then invented skateboarding. Yes, you have been told that the bubonic plague, the United States, and the industrial age came next. In reality, skateboarding came before all of the aforementioned, so-called historic events and quickly became the cool thing to do until the invention of the automobile. Screw it; we know that skateboarding predates the Model T and this Habitat Prehistoric Complete Skateboard is proof.
Bottom Line: Skateboarding is 'pre' history.
