Description

All you need is a short skirt and a long hemp jacket.

Wear a jacket that matches your vegetarian, peace-and-nature-loving lifestyle and looks fashionable too. The classy Hemp Hoodlamb Women's Long Hoodlamb Jacket won't get you labeled a hippy, even if you are one at heart. Hemp Hoodlamb made this luxurious-feeling long jacket from hemp and organic cotton, and then lined it with vegan lamb fur (as opposed to fur from those cheese-eating lambs you hear so much about). A belt lets you emphasize your figure, and a cozy removable hood fends off a cold wind. An audio pocket has earphone loops for your MP3, and a dispenser keeps you stocked in rolling papers.
  • PLEASE NOTE: This garment snug in the body, with lots of room in the arm

I also was looking to upgrade from my thinner and less pricey plain long black jacket that was not ideal for the cold weather we get here. The high, furry neck is perfect for blocking the wind and keeping in your warmth. Also the zip zippers up to the side, not irritating your chin. This coat does a good job keeping u warm in cold weather, its bulky but not too heavy (compared to some other hoodlambs especially) and could definetly be warn in warmer weather as well! Hood is removable so with an unzipped front and bare legs...I can see myself wearing this jacket for multiple seasons.
I was looking for something not too dressy or similar to alot of the coats I see sold in stores in my town, I receive many compliments on the style of this jacket..honestly I feel I like it more everyday.
The only thing I would say that isn't so positive but is nothing too negative is the zipper closure at the bottom can sometimes be a bit fussy when first doing it up. U get used to it and just need to line them up right.
I found the reviews helpful when I ordered this coat, I got a M and I am not too small but not very large and still have plenty of room for a sweater. Hope u find this helpful!

I'm 5'4", slim build, but XS items are usually too short in the arms for me, so ordered the small. I was swimming in it. I have to return it, but not sure whether I will order the XS. I like that the jacket is vegan and has cool features, but it is heavy and cumbersome yet tight around the neck, like if I had to drive in it, I would feel like a robot. Maybe would be better in smaller size, but not sure it's worth trying. Too bad, because I live in the city and thought this would be a cool urban winter coat that could keep me warm while walking the dog.

I've been eyeing this in black for awhile and found it under the Christmas tree on Christmas morning :-) It couldn't have come at a better time, I spent the rest of the holidays in Montreal where it was -18C (appx. -1F) and this coat was AMAZING. Not only did I feel stylish when I rocked it, but I was able to wear a super thin t-shirt under it and feel extremely comfortable.

I love that the hood is detachable and that the pockets are lined with the vegan fur. The waist is adjustable to a degree, which is great too. It features a bunch of pockets (some hidden) which came in handy as well.

My only issue is with the wrist gaiters. For me, they were stitched too close to the end of the sleeve so that I couldn't fully put my gloves on. I ended up not using the wrist gaiters for that reason.

I'm still thanking the gift givers for this present since I know I'll be get a great deal of use out of it.

i wanted to upgrade my coat from a wool number i'd had for a few years, which i alternated with a long and dumpy down coat that was warm but lacking in the style department. when i saw the long hoodlamb coat, i knew it was perfect for me!

it's really warm for a not-terribly-bulky coat and has lots of cute, functional features that make it fun to wear: thumbholes to prevent drafts up your sleeves, a high collar that eliminates the need for a scarf, back snaps that allow you to taper the waste, plenty of internal pockets and external ones with magnetic closures, and the awesome rolling paper dispenser, not of much use to me but hilarious nonetheless.

i can't recommend this coat highly enough. i've gotten lots of compliments on it and hope it'll serve me well for a few years. if and when it needs replacing, i'd buy another one in a heartbeat!

i'm trying to figure out how this fits too. from what i have read, it is slim in the waist and roomy in the arms. someone on amazon mentioned going up a size because you can cinch the waist in with the belt that is on the back of the jacket, or you could always have it altered. sounds like a pretty rad jacket and worth it! can't wait to get mine!

Does this jacket have the wrist/thumb bands as well like the shorter version? (The little loop you can stick your thumb through inside the arm cuffs)

Yes. There's a bigger description on the product page at the manufacturer's website (http://shop.hoodlamb.com/product_info.php?cPath=37_39&products_id=150). They've actually got a picture of the thumb loops on that page, as well.

I love this jacket. It is so hard to find a vegan jacket, but to find a warm, stylish AND vegan jacket is pretty much unheard of. I hate winter, and I can't wait for it to get cold so I can wear this baby.

For the weight, not nearly as warm as down.

I have the shorter version of this jacket, and am going to buy the longer version this winter. This is by far, in my opinion, the warmest jacket I've ever owned. I am truly amazed at how it keeps the wind, wet, and cold out. I get endless compliments on mine.

There is one for the Hemp Hoodlamb Droptop Hoodlamb Jacket that should work for this jacket as well.

The measurements between the short and long are actually a little different. The manufacturer's website has a measurement chart at http://shop.hoodlamb.com/img/sizecharts/LO_GARMENT10.jpg.

The measurements are across the flat garment, so I'd double them to get the measurement around and then add a few inches to your body measurements to leave room for things like clothes and breathing.
