Cool - not good for iPhone 5c

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I borrowed this for the weekend with my iPhone 5c, and I'll wait for the 5c version dropping soon before investing in my own hit case. There are a few kinks when using this case with the 5c version. The volume buttons on the side of the phone kept getting stuck as would the power button so the phone would take 16 pictures in rapid motion. This case wasn't designed for the 5c - so that's understandable. Otherwise this was a REALLY cool thing to take out on a river trip.

I only gave it 4 stars because it is really bulky. I wouldn't use this everyday, but it's perfect if you are taking your phone into compromising adventure circumstances and still need to 'gram it up.

The 3x wide angle lens attachment was SUPER cool - I had a lot of fun playing around with it.

This worked fine with my friend's 5s phone.
So all in all, an awesome case - skip it and wait for the proper version if you have an iphone 5c.

A Travel YES!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Okay, I could sit and tell you how rad this is from a backpacking/surfing/biking perspective but I'm going to hit on the travel aspect. I recently took the HitCase Pro for a spin at Disneyland and a beach day and I'm telling you, this is a must.

While living in Europe for 7 months and traveling around, my husband and I have 9 pictures of us TOGETHER... NINE! Why? because I hate taking time to pull out the camera and ask someone to take a picture for us and I don't like to put my phone/camera in harms way because they are both fragile!

Solution: HITCASE!!!

Pros: awesome lens, survived several drops in sand, stayed safe while getting soaked on Splash Mountain, super easy to use

Cons: If you don't keep the lens clean (which is easy) you'll get some weird lighting in your pictures just like regular cameras.

Cool Case and Great Picture Lens

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have used this case a few times and so far I have been really impressed especially with the added wide angle lens for the iPhone camera. It opened up a whole new option of some great wide angle shots which you could not do before. Also the case is durable enough to withstand dropping the phone from some decent heights. I dropped my phone from about 7 feet of the ground and not a thing happened to the phone or the case. Also the added mount for the case was a great idea because you can take some good POV pictures and selfies just like you could with some of the GoPro mounts. The only thing that I did not like about the case was how thick it was because when you put it in your pocket it is quite bulky and definitely makes your iPhone twice as thick and much wider but overall a great product that will protect your phone through most anything.

Sweet CONCEPT

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I must say, this case really tested my patience!

First off, how cool is it that you can use your phone instead of a Gorpo camera!?
I felt like I could take my phone anywhere with no fear with this case. Its bulky but when your snowboarding down the face of a mountain, you tend not to mind the protectiveness its got going on!
I do have some pros and cons for the case though.

PROS: Its your phone! Its not more gear you have to lug around because you most likely already planned on bringing your phone. I love the Idea that I can take a picture of a video and boom upload it on Facebook or send it to my mom! You don't have to have bluetooth or mess with an SD card to get to your footage.
Love the Fish eye lens.
I can still use my phone for everything else.

Cons:
You can not use your flash. Bummer right? I thought so!
It gets a bit heavy on the pole adapter.

This is where it tested my patience. The after Market pole that I had with the Hitcase was horrible. It has about 4 screws on it and everyone fell off at one point. on a tram at snowbird.. in the powder on a run.. and on the tram deck randomly...
Also the black piece that the case slides into.... I broke it.. yep I was getting some footage in the pow. took a small tumble and boom snapped it off at the click on to the pole area... Found my phone thank goodness.

Also the screw on the case doesn't stay super tight when snowboarding and it kept falling and so the footage had a few crappy spots..

Over all its a great concept! and I think with a bit of tweaking or maybe a better pole on my part and id be a great fan.. I did slackline with it and looooved it. But fast motion and taking hits wasn't working super well for me.

FREAKING RAD aside from me breaking it . HAHA

Cant afford a GoPro? GET THIS!!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

It's really easy and fun to use. It's like having a life proof case but with a stellar fisheye for a camera! I had a lot of fun using this for climbing. Takes really awesome stills as well. The mount is really easy and user friendly. I would say if you are looking to invest in something less pricey than a GoPro and easy to use then get this! I have the 5C and it was harder to clip it in since it is thicker but it did the job!

I have used a few other iPhone video cases before, and in my opinion Hitcase is the best on the market. It is super easy to use, just three clips and your phone is locked in safe. The case is fully waterproof, so you can bring it along on the chest deep days! The case has the universal 1/4 thread, so you can use a wide variety of accesories and mounts. Fisheye lense gives a solid range of view, and is super easy and really fun using the phone you already own to film and make videos with your buddies.

Awesome accessory

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I absolutely love this thing. It turns your iPhone into the equivalent of a Contour or GoPro camera. Video quality is great and the fact that it gives your phone camera a wide angle lens is pretty neat.

Rad video. Can't wait to get to Japan! What goggles is he wearing? That lens change he performs mid shred is ridic!

That's one of anon's M2's. AMAZING goggle.

Thanks for the info! How do they work in a crash? Does the lens come off? I assume Burton/Anon did their homework and put the goggle through rigorous testing.

They work pretty well, mr_polo16. Of course if you slam hard enough, I'm sure you could get them to pop out, but at that point you've probably got other problems :)

I've ridden them 2 seasons solid and haven't had a problem with it.

I really like this case

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this case with my iPhone 5. It has made my iPhone so much more useful. I use it while mountain biking, to take photos with the wide angle lens, and mostly to mount in my car.

Awesome product!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been using my Hitcase since June and love it. In situations that I normally would have left my iPhone at home or in my car, I now take with me, confident that it's well protected. After several drops, lots of mud and a fall to the bottom of a lake, my iPhone has survived it all!
