Homeschool Dangermare Jacket - Men's - 2011

The Homeschool Dangermare Jacket features a clean style with technical attributes that were made with riding the Northwest's wet and heavy snow in mind. The Dangermare's Continuum 2.5 layer laminate, fully taped seams, and all-natural Cocona Xcelerator technology all team up to keep you dry and keep air flowing. Whether you're split-boarding up backcountry steeps or making laps inbounds, the Dangermare is ready to answer the call.

  • Continuum 2.5 layer laminate provides a high level of protection from moisture with superior breathability
  • Xcelerator technology attaches a layer of Cocona fabric to the laminate to move moisture vapor and body heat through natural active particles
  • Darth (Wind) Hater Hood puts up shields on the side of your face to block wind like never before
  • Fully taped seams put unwanted moisture in a sleeper hold
  • HSS Engineered Fit provides a classic fit that's built with comfort in mind, however you choose to layer
  • Dual entry lower pockets allow for convenient accessibility and storage with a billowed design for enhanced volume
  • Low profile adjustable cuff seals out snow
  • Jacket-to-pant interface allows for a snow-resistant seal with corresponding pieces

Bottom Line: The Dangermare is your dream jacket.

Super techy and super awesome

By:

This jacket fits me perfect! Got it in a medium and am 5'9, 200lbs (34in waist, 40in chest, short arms), sleave length, jacket length and width are perfect. Its not baggy, but fits my base/mid layers and isn't tight at all.
Pros: SUPER breathable, keeps me bone dry, elastic velcro cuffs, hood fits OVER helmet, pass holder, pow-skirt, completely non-restricting no matter how ridiculous the grab, dries fast for multiday use, looks awesome.
Cons: media pocket is on the OUTSIDE of the jacket meaning if its cold, your battery will die fast. no zippered pocket on the inside, no wrist gaiters.

For the price you will not get a better jacket. There is no insulation but thats the point of a shell, get a good mid/base layer and you're set. The jacket has seen 10+ days of serious abuse of heavy snow and scraping in the trees and still looks like new.

Id like to see this come with wrist gaiters, a ZIPPER to integrate the pow skirt (like volcom and burton) but other than that its a killer jacket.

Awesome Jacket!

By:

I got this jacket for my last snowboarding trip, and I'm very happy I did! This jacket is the tits! I ate it a few times, but I remained dry the entire trip. Just as a heads up though, this jacket doesn't really have any insulation, so its good to wear layers under it if its cold out.

Not impressed

The jacket said that it was fully insulated yet is barely a shell. The outer layer is flimsy and does not feel durable at all. Very disappointed with the jacket.

Whoa! Hold up this is an amazing durable jacket and coco technology that is "flimsy" not crunchy like gore tex shells are in cold conditions. 60g insulation not 600fil layer up chuz or go back to that bugaboo you've been rocking since 95'

Method!

By:

A method is a tweaked melon grab. It is also a way of doing things. In this photo the rider prefers to use the methods he learned from Homeschool Snowboarding with the use of the Dangermare Jacket!

So far this jacket has been perfect. Lightweight, good fit, clean look and superior breathability. For the colder days I recommend using their base and mid layers...the Trifecta!

Good jacket, lying description

By:
December 16, 2012

First of all this jacket has 0 insulation, don't believe that the cocona is "insulation technology." Its a shell jacket and there's also no wrist gaiters. There is also only 1 inside pocket, not 2, idk why companies lie about this but the hand pockets are double pockets each which is legit. It's not krinkly like other shell jackets and it's waterproof.

Nice jacket but the Earth color looks purple in the dark. Front Pockets are shaped funny as well. I had to return this jacket for a different one all together

All around jacket

By:

This jacket is the definition of versatile. It has a great style/fit, and has the ability to keep you warm and dry in numerous situations. I wear it not only when I snowboard, but on those cold rainy beach days too. Its my first pick when I choose to do some winter steelheading on the upper northwest rivers. Clean design, that will help you get where you need to go..even if its just to the bar on a rainy night.
