How much difference do two numbers make? Try switching from Independent Trucks' ABEC 5 to Independent's ABEC 7 Bearings and you may need to double-up on underwear after pluggin' these into your wheels.

NICE!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have always used Independent trucks on my board, but never tried the bearings, before now. They do ride very smooth. A good buy for the price.

Not as good as Bones Super Reds

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

They are quiet and smooth, but that's about it. They don't roll well under weight and they surely don't free-spin worth a crap.

I have Bones Swiss on one of my boards and I think they are the best. I have Bones Super Reds on another board and they are great. A little louder than the Swiss but still MUCH better than the Indy 7's. The Indies don't even come close.

Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $8 on some Super Reds. Indy's claim that these bearings roll faster out of the box than Bones Swiss is a flat out lie. I don't know what bearings they used in the video demo, but they sure as hell aren't the ones I have on two of my boards. I'm replacing both of those boards' bearing with Super Reds now.

I thought I'd give the Indies some time to break in to see if they would get better. After a year of cruising around, they haven't gotten any better. Don't Believe the hype.
