Jones Snowboards is best known for its cutting-edge freeride shapes, but that same innovative thinking has been applied to the new Aviator, a purpose-built freestyle ripstick. It takes the cambered profile that tons of experienced shredders rely on for solid landings and locked in carves, and it throws a base bevel into the mix at the contact points. The result is the solid landings and edge control of camber, without the tendency to catch edges if you get a little squirrely. From side hits to the jump line, take flight, knowing that your landings just got smoother.
The 3D Power Camber profile gives you camber over the full running length of the board, but the contact points at the tip and tail get a two-degree base bevel, which reduces hangups. The directional shape features a slightly longer nose for soft snow float, but switch riding won't suffer a bit. The result is all the power of camber, with a bit of extra forgiveness. Mellow Magne-Traction places bumps along the edge, for insane edgehold, especially when you're crossing an icy traverse on the way to the run of your life. The blunted nose keeps swing weight down for quicker turns. The sintered base holds a bunch of wax and runs lightning-fast.
