If you've seen Deeper, you know what this board is capable of. If not, go watch it immediately (and be sure to have a fresh pair of drawers ready).

Jeremy Jones has been pushing the limits of big-mountain riding since many of his peers have been in diapers. Whether he's putting down first descents in AK or exploring in New Zealand, Mr. Jones trusts his life to the Flagship snowboard in the hairiest terrain on Earth. The directional rocker/camber hybrid shape and refined Magne-Traction edge design create a super-stable platform that floats on top of nipple-deep snow, stomps warp-speed airs, and powers through icy turns - so you can stay on top of your board when falling is simply not an option.
  • Directional hybrid-rocker shape uses exaggerated rocker in the nose, camber between your feet, and a mellow rocker in the tail
  • Full wood topsheet cuts down on weight and toxic chemicals
  • Magne-Traction edges add five extra contact points - mellow toward the tip and tail for precise edge control, and more exaggerated between the bindings for raw turning power
  • Wide, blunted nose shape increases surface area for better float in deep snow
  • Carbon and KEVLAR reinforcement delivers excellent pop and lighting-quick edge-to-edge transitions
  • Large sidecut radius ensures stability at excessive speeds
  • Hickory wood sidewalls reduce environmental impact without sacrificing durability
  • Carbon-infused sintered base material made with recycled P-tex is both ridiculously fast and eco-friendly

Jones me to the moon

Unfortunately I had to return my first Flagship after gashing the thing open (user error) the third day on it, but I have been riding the second one I got for about two months by now. Love does not do our relationship justice (is it uncommon to sleep with your snowboard after an epic backcountry excursion?). The Flagship is fast in whatever conditions you strap into, and absolutely floats in the pow. It's a little heavy to pack around, but makes up for the slight back pain it causes in beautiful waves of snow in your face.

I was a little nervous (and intrigued) by the unfinished topsheet, but all my concerns have been put to bed. I'm on my 20th day or so with the wood stick and I can't imagine my life without it (literally).

Lives up to the hype

This is the best board I have ever ridden. In deep powder, this board keeps its nose up and floats beautifully. On groomers, it can turn on a dime or make long, sweeping carves. It is very agile but stable. The board is very quick edge to edge. The mellow mag is very subtle, but the board holds its edge when called upon. The flagship is the ultimate freeride board. I will be keeping this board for a long time.

I'm pretty sure its sold out just about everywhere, but I know one place where it will be in stock in maybe a week or so. I returned a 161 to Tactics.com and its shipping back to them right now.
